Unfortunatley i was ill for the pracitce session but my group took me through everything that they did.
The reason for the practice was so everyone could get used to the equipment we would be using throughout our filming sessions.
They practiced different shots with the camera so they could get used to what fucntions the buttons have and so that they were more confident with the camera in general so that our opening would be good. All the group used the camera during the prelim but we wanted our movie opening to be better and more professional than our first film together.
Another thing the group needed to test was the microhphone. The group needed to test this as we didnt have one during our prelim so therefore it was a new peice of equipment for the group to use.
Another piece of equipment used was the tripod. This our group used well in our prelim but for our short film we needed to furthur our skills for example by working out the best way to do tilts and the best angles for it to be on.
I am very lucky my group went and did this whilst i was ill as they were both really good when it came to filling me on details and helping me to learn all the techniques they had already picked up :)

Planning
We planned our first actual shoot for our movie opening to be on the 1st February 2010. We chose this day as the weather was set to be dry and all of our filming has to be recorded outside. The set we chose was a woods at the top of avon way just behind Highdown Junior school. We had to walk through a couple of fields to get there which was a muddy journey but we made it there in the end. We arranged for our friend Dec to join us in the filming and be a part of our film so we could have more of the group to concentrate on directing and filming rather than everyone acting in it. We planned to get as many shots of dec as possible because he can not make it to our next recording session.
Email to music company
Nick Lange a member of the group i am working in sent out emails to different companies to see if we could use there music during our film opening. many different companies were emailed and we had some very positive replies from them. We haven't yet confirmed the music we are using as we want to see how the different music goes with our film opening. We will know for certain when we have tested out different music alongside our film. We want to try out the different music choices so we know that our song goes with the mood and atmosphere of the scene. All of the group is extremely grateful for the kind responses we have had and really appreciate that the different companies are willing to help us with our A level media project.

This shouldn't be an issue if you are just using it for coursework and
not to be broadcast etc anywhere.
Just let me know what tracks you were looking to use and where and I

As a group we chose to do a film that kept people on edge. we needed to have a storyboard so we knew which shots we wanted to take of the actors. to create our story board me Sandie and Nick went around the school taking pictures that were relevant to show the variety of shots we wanted and to give us a plan to follow when we went to film our movie opening.
